Smokey Eyes at Oscar De La Renta NY Fashion Week

Hi Beauties!

So here's another great look right off the hot runways of NY Fashion Week! The heat was definitely turned up at the at the Oscar De La Renta show as the models looked sizzling hot in their smoldering eyes.

The look was created by Makeup Artist Pat McGrath.

Here's the low down on how to re-create a sultry smoky eye look with defined brows, perfect skin and natural, glossy lips.

She began by lining the eyes with brown pencil, generously applying brown shadow to the lid and dabbing a touch of beige-gold shadow to the eye's inner corner. She finished with lots of Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara.

McGrath accentuated cheeks with a shimmering highlighter across the cheekbones. She suggested re-creating the bold eye look by using a dual-ended, bronze and gold eye shadow pen by Max Factor. Models' nails were done in Fed Up by Essie, a peachy neutral shade.

MAC Suggestions:

Brown Pencil: Teddy Eyeliner (this has some shimmer)

Brown Eyeshadow: Expresso

Beige gold eyeshadow: Gorgeous Gold, Goldmine OR Amber lights
Shimmering Hightlighter: Mineralize Skin Finish in SOFT & GENTLE

Re-Create Looks from Marc Jacobs NY Fashion Week!

Hi Beauties!

Happy Tuesday!

While browsing around WWDBeauty, I stumbled across some very dramatic looks featured at the MARC JACOBS fashion show during NY Fashion Week. All of the models in this show sported different hair styles and different makeup looks! How cool is that?! All of the looks were created by NARS
COSMETICS.

Anyway, I came up with some colors (from MAC) that could help you re-create these looks. :-)

To try this look: MAC Danger Zone Trio (mineralized eyeshadow, "Red She Said" collection October 2008)
Lid: Black side of the trim
Crease: Red side of the trio
.
Black liner to crease a cat eye.
Hightlight with any color your like.
Nude lips!

Other looks from the show:

This look is so awesome!

To re-create this look:
MAC Satellite Dreams
on lid past
the crease.
MAC Carbon to line upper and lower lashlines and your outer V.

MAC Cosmetics Grand Duos Collection for Spring 2009

LAUNCH: March 12th 2009

Mineralization has swept the beauty nation but MAC makes the next move with Grand Duos: Mineralize Blush that has a marbleized melange on one side, and a complimentary mono-shade on the other. Soft shimmer, super-shine pearl in a pretty tri-colour veining to enhance and glorify cheekbones, followed with the pop and dimension of solid colour shimmer without an overly frosted look. Cream Team : Lavender Whip Lipstick

Hi again Beauties!

I went to my MAC store to check out the Cream Team collection. I only picked up with Lavender Whip Lipstick because it was the only thing that I felt was New enough. And I must say that I do love it!

In general, I love the texture of Creamsheen lipsticks. The color is surprisingly pigmented enough to be build-able or you can opt to wear it sheerly. In this photo, I am wearing the Lavender Whip lipstick with the MAC Clear Lipglass. (I am NC40)

This will be a great color for Spring/Summer weekends when you don't feel like wearing the usual pink or nude color. Plus it's so Modern looking it will surely lift your mood when you wear it!

Let me know how you like it!

XOXO,
Awilda

China Glaze:Recycle Nail Polish (Dupe MAC HK "On The Prowl")

Hi Beauties!

I wanted to show you all a photo of my latest nail polish acquisition (lol), China Glaze Recycle. It is a really Chic grey color. It looks great against your skin and it's totally wearable to the office. Application was really smooth, the photo is based on 2 coats.

PS: It looks VERY similar to the MAC Hello Kitty "on the prowl" nail polish for 1/3 of the price!

Let me know what you think.

XOXO,
Awilda
