Reese Witherspoon Bloomin in 09

Hi Beauties!

Today, WWD announced the partnership between Reese Witherspoon (Academy-Award Winning actress) and Avon Cosmetics to launch the star's fragrance.

The Fragrance will be called In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon.

"Witherspoon has spent the last two years serving as Avon’s global ambassador and brand spokeswoman, creating a fragrance marked something of a new endeavor for the 33-year-old.

Due out globally in November, In Bloom is the largest fragrance initiative this year for Avon, which has slowly been building its scent stable by collaborating with designers such as Emanuel Ungaro and Christian Lacroix and celebrities like Derek Jeter and Patrick Dempsey. Witherspoon — who has an Oscar for best actress under her belt for her 2006 role as June Carter Cash in “Walk the Line” as well as leading roles in box-office hits like “Legally Blonde” and “Sweet Home Alabama” — undoubtedly adds a new level of star power to the direct-sales giant’s lineup. "

The fragrance:

Top: Georgia peach, tea leaves and crisp greens

Heart: Star gardenia, magnolias and night-blooming jasmine

Base: cashmere woods, hypnotic florals and amber wood crystals.

Looking forward to checking out the fragrance later this year!

XOXO,
Awilda

Acheive That Radiant Glow: Using MAC Pigments

Hi Beauties!

The summer is here and there’s nothing sexier than that radiant Glow during the warm days/nights.

Here’s a really great tip:

Cool OR Latin Skin Complexions:
Using MAC Pigment in Melon:
Mix a tiny drop of the pigment on the back of your hand with your moisturizer. Use the balls of your finger tips to tap a bit of the mixture on to the highest point of your Cheekbones and blend it out softly.

Warm OR Women Of Color Complexions:
Using MAC Pigment in Melon AND Tan:
Mix a tiny drop of the pigments on the back of your hand with your moisturizer. Use the balls of your finger tips to tap a bit of the mixture on to the highest point of your Cheekbones and blend it out softly.

BONUS Tip: Use tiny bit of the mixture on your Cupid's Bow (right above your middle upper lip) and really wow them!

Voila! Now you have high cheekbones, highlight and that sexy glow!

XOXO,
Awilda

MAC Naked Honey Haulin and MAC Studio Talk Class

Hi Beauties!

I was super happy today because I was able to attend a "MAC Class" at my local MAC Store. The class was a private event hosted by a Senior MAC Artist for 2 hours. There was a full face demonstration by two artists who talked about many of the MAC products (of course) and also a Q&A session for audience to ask questions.

It was a great time and I would highly recommend attending one of these MAC Classes if they are available in your area.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. I did a little damage and picked up at few things I "needed". LOL

The Naked Honey Collection was released today and I was un-impressed.
I picked up the "Pollinator" Eyeshadow and the "Golden Nectar" Highlight powder. Honestly, I am retuning the powder because there's very little "reflects" in it and it wasn't what I expected. It's much too Satin-y, more like a Natural Skinfinish.

Other Goodies:
MAC 224 brush (An Eyeshadow blending must have)

MAC 227 brush (great for applying highlight)

MAC Earthly Riches Mineralized Eyeshadow Duo (Smokey grey Plum combo which is gorgeous on warm skin tones)

MAC Morange Lipstick (The trend is Bright, Coloful lips and this is spot on bright orange!)

MAC Melon Pigment (beautiful golden melon color for highlighting and eyeshadow)

Let me know if you have any questions on any of these.

XOXO,
Awilda

My Favorite Products (for now)

Hi Beauties!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I sure did! and now I am very, very tired. [Is it 5 pm yet? :-D]

Anyway, back to business. I've seen quite number of youtube gurus and bloggers begin posting their top favorite products monthly. Since I couldn't think of anything clever or unique to post today (and I'm tired), I figured why not be a copy cat?

So, here's the list.

1. Chanel Teinte Innocence Foundation in #60 Hale/Wheat (translated in MAC dialect asNC40):
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Girl! This is too expensive in these hard times!" But, I was running out of my MUFE HD foundation and I'm currently going through a foundation addiction. I decided to shell out the $47 for this foundation because I think I really love CHANEL now (sorry MAC!). Why I love it? It looks soooo pretty on! The finish is very luminous and I can't get enough of that 'glowy' look. Think Jlo!

2. China Glaze Shower Together nailpolish
Such a beautiful blue-green color. I read on Makeupalley that this color was MADE for NC40 girls. So, of course I bought it. Love it.
Order it here: http://www.head2toebeauty.com/nail_polishes/npo_china_glaze1.htm

3. MAC Painterly Paintpot
Most of you have heard the saying, "If it's not broken, don't fix it". This all time classic (at least for me, this was the first of my Paintpots) is still my all time favorite paint pot. You can do basically any look with this base and I've used it in my last 2 videos as proof that I love it. LOL

4. MAC Studio Scupt Concealor
Goodbye, dark undereye circles! I love this because it gives great coverage and it's not hard to work with. I found that the MAC Studio Finish Concealor was great but the consitency of it made me tug at my skin, even if i warmed it up on my skin.

5. MAC Pink Plaid Matte Lipstick
I have a weakness for pink blushes and lipsticks! This pink is great because I can wear it during the day without looking tacky. (ie, MAC's Girl About Town is hard to pull off in a corporate environment).

6. MAC 109 Brush
Oh! MAC 109, How did I live my life without thee? For I love you so much, I could care less that thou sheds on my Chanel Bronze Universal.

Everyone needs this brush! Enough said.

7. Soleil Tan de Chanel (formerly named Bronze Universal)

Wow! beleive all the hype, this is such a great bronzing product. I have a 'Product Report" on this coming soon.

XOXO,
Awilda

#1 FAQ: What Is My Hair Care Routine *updated*

Hi Beauties,

Many of you have asked what is my hair care routine.
Honestly, I am more of a makeup person and so when it comes to my hair, I really don't like to fuzz with it much. I found a system that works for me and doesn't require too much labor. (so I can have more time to play with makeup, lol).

What I use?
Devachan salon hair products. www.devachansalon.com

Wash?
No-Poo "Shampoo"
This product doesn't make suds. It is a creamy consistency.

Conditioner?
Devachan One Condition to comb out the tangles with a wide tooth comb in the shower. I do not wash it out at all.

Once I come out of the shower, I towel dry my hair. If I have extra time, I'll get some Bounty Paper Towels to remove some of the water from my hair instead. They recommend also using a white cotton t-shirt instead of a towel because you can avoid frizzy-ness.

Treatments:
I recently discovered the Devachan Heaven In Hair deep moisture treatment. I've used it about 7 times and it leaves my hair super shiny and soft. Would highly recommended this. I use this about once a week.

Gel?
A few descent palm fulls of Devachan Angell to spread allover my hair.
I scrunch my hair to 'activate' my curls.

At the part in my hair, I use a few hair clips to lift the hair from the root. This creates volume once your hair is try.

I then dry my hair with a regular hair dryer and diffuser.
Once it's all dry, I scrunch my hair again to remove the hard film from the crystallized gel. Shake it around upside down to create volume.

Done!

Hair Cut and Shape
I also go to Devachan salon for my haircut about every 6 months, sometimes longer since my hair doesn't grow very fast in general.

They cut your hair dry in it's curly state.

I ask for a senior stylist when I make an appointment to the salon, which is a bit more expensive. But, since I don't really go too often, it's reasonable.
The last person to give me a hair cut was Marvin @ the Broadway Location.
He gave me great shape and I would go to him again.

As your hair grows out, the overall shape remains.

:-)

Hope this helps,
Awilda

Product Report: Nars Portofino and South Beach multiples

Hi Beauties,

In continuing with my Product Reports, today's spotlight is on the NARS Portofino and South Beach Multiples.
$37.00 USA

These two products are gorgeous! I really like them and I foresee using them quite frequently during the summer. To begin, they are called multiples because they are OK to use on your face as blush, Bronzer, on your eyes as eyeshadow or as lipstick. The packaging is super convenient because it's a tube (think 2 lipsticks put together). If you are tight on space for a vacation, this could be used to save space and carry along for quick touch ups on-the-go.

The scoop: The consistency of the products is a creamy texture that glides across easily across your skin. The colors at the initial stroke is fairly pigmented and are both completely build-able. They both contain shimmer which makes them great for highlighting your face. The product can be applied with a brush or directly from the tube. Once you have it on, they are a dream to blend. You don't need to tug at your skin and you could use your fingers, a brush or a sponge to blend out.

Final Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
Worth purchasing if you are a person that frequently touches up makeup or travels often. Great for vacationing or simply carrying in your purse.

Let me know if you have any questions.

XOXO,
Awilda

Product Report: Mac Skinsheen Leg Spray

Hi Beauties!

Going forward, I will be posting periodic "Product Reports" on items that I have tried and tested. On as many items as possible, I will try to make short video reports. Here is the first of many upcoming "Product Reports".

MAC Skinsheen Legspray *Video Report* [Color : Dark]
75 ml / 2.5 fl oz US $22.50

Overall final thoughts: This product is very well worth the purchase. My skin did not look orange or streaky/uneven. And best of all, this doesn't require the skin damage from tanning in the sun!

Let me know how you feel about these Product Reports!

XOXO,
Awilda
