The Makeup Show NYC Haul & Review Of My Experience

Hi Beauties!

As promised, I wanted to post the few things that I picked up at the Makeup Show NYC. Since this was my first time participating in the Makeup Show, I was a little overwhelmed with the selections and the amount of people at the show. From what I understand, the show has grown trememndously since last year with a lot more people attending. Congrats to the Powder Group on continued success!!

The vendors at the show included almost everyone from the usual suspects (MAC, Make Up For Ever, Smashbox, Stila, Inglot, Temptu, Kett, Crown Brushes, Eve Pearl, Alcone Co) as well as newer up and coming brands (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and others).

I found that the prices of the products were fairly priced or discounted. I think that I'd like to prepare better for the next years show and hold on buying makeup for a few months prior to the show and then clean up. LOL

I did not have chance to attend any of the seminars by the Pro artists. Next year I will also allow time for that.

Today's Small Haul

A little retail therapy before the end of 2009.

A few of my twitter friends recommended some of the Nars red lipsticks. I happily obliged and picked up the Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. I wore it home! Enough said.

I am also running out of my fabulous Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I originally wanted to try to the Sheer Glow foundation because my Youtube buddy AmyNicolaox loves it. We wear the same shade in foundation, Stromboli (aka MAC NC40). However, I have oily skin and the MUA suggested the Sheer Matte Foundation. I can't wait to try this foundation out because it is more yellow based than my Armani.

Red Cherry Lashes Haul!

Hi Beauties!

I received my Red Cherry lashes today. I'm so excited to pick my favorites from this haul.

I LOVE the MAC #7 Lashes more than any other lashes I've ever used but they get mighty expensive. Here's a great alternative for those who use lashes very frequently.

NARS: Brazil Duo Eyeshadow

Hi Beauties,

It's been a crazy week. Haven't had much time to update this page but hopefully soon things will get better. Anyway, I just wanted to show you a photo of my latest NARS buy, the Brazil Duo Eyeshadow. (www.sephora.com, $32.00 USA).

It's is a great combo for everyday wear because the shimmer is really light. They look great together or alone.

MAC Pro Haulin' (Sugarsweet gloss)

Hi Beauties,

I went to my MAC Pro store last week and picked up a few goodies. Nothing crazy but here it is.
*I posted below, a look I did with two of these colors I bought*

For the Sugarsweet collection, I only picked up 1 of the tricolor Lipglasses, Simply Delicious.
What products did you get? I might go back for the Aquavert eyeshadow and the Nail polish in that seafoam green.

New MAC Lipsticks

Hi Beauties,

Here are some photos of 2 new lipsticks I picked up at MAC. I am on a no-eyeshadow purchasing period because I never really use the eyeshadows I own. So to make up for this, I'm leaning towards lipsticks and lipglosses now. lol

So here they are:














The first one is KINDA SEXY (matte): described as a neutral Pinky-rose on the MAC site. It is a very pretty 'everyday' color. I do like the matte finish from MAC because they don't look too dry on the lips. This one looked great with brown eyes.
















The second one is CHATTERBOX (amplified):
It is a super bight pink color. The pigmentation on this one is awesome. I didnt really have to apply layers of it to show on my lips. I have a thing for Amplified Creme's from MAC because they feel so great, the are pretty pigmented and they don't dry out your lips.
