MAC & Marcel Wanders - Luxe Couture collection

Launch: 24 November 2010 [US/Canada]

“If I have a basic motivation, it’s to inspire people to make their life a Masterpiece!” Is that not what we do every day at M∙A∙C? So it is that the Dutch industrial designer – known for everything from his “Happy Hour” Chandelier to his futuresonic way with old Delft porcelain, and for co-founding now-iconic design collective Droog AND the amusing, classicism-meets-futurism objects of his own group, Moooi (from the Dutch word for “beauty,” but with an extra “o” for extra-beautiful!) – wandered HERE…It had to be! M∙A∙C partners with Marcel Wanders – his first foray into the world of cosmetics – and design sophisticates (and people with innate and irreverent tastes) will be bonkers for these limited-edition Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Sheer Mystery Powder, Air of Style Scent Concentrate, and his signature brush and clutch creations, not least of all for their arresting packaging – fine collectors’ items all! But also for the rich palette, inspired by 17th-century Flemish painting, and particularly, Vermeer – “The Girl With a Pearl Earring” – and the idea of an artist painting a portrait, and falling in love. “Always, with a sense of love in the product…” he says. Marcel speaks our M∙A∙C language.

MAC Cosmetics Times Square NYC

The only reason I would ever walk through the tourist-packed Times Square is if I have to pick up something at Sephora (or for the Betsy Johnson sample Sale once a year).

Now, I will be forced to make the trek to 45Th street and Seventh Avenue (aka tourist central!) to go check out the newly opened MAC Cosmetics store!

Yes, it's true! They finally opened! Trust that I will be going to investigate! :-D

Picture: courtesy of ny.racked.com

Honey Mag says:
Good news M.A.C. addicts! The cosmetic company is debuting their biggest flagship store ever (1700-square-foot space) right in the heart of Times Square. Beginning on April 15, shoppers will experience a flagship store like no other, makeup counters will be surrounded by LED screens and touch screen computers will be available to assist those in finding a specific product. Since Times Square is light city galore of course the new store will be just as bright with LED tiles. On average M.A.C. estimates 500 customers a day and hired 60 makeup artists which is four time the size of an average staff at a store.

Hi Beauties!

I really love the way that this came out! My boyfriend even asked me to do his makeup as The Joker for Halloween! lol!

This probably not a look that a lot of girls will wear but I thought it was fun to try it on myself because I don't have a full time model. LOL

RIP Heath Ledger.
I think he did an amazing job as The Joker in Batman: The Dark Night. He was a star that died too soon.

Hope you like this!

Blog Poll: Do You Wear Full Face Makeup To Work?

Hi Beauties!

I want to hear from you!

Do You Wear Full Face Makeup To Work?

For me, I wear my face every day. I don't feel like myself if I don't. On Late days, I forgo the eyeshadow and keep it basic with some Mascara on the eyes.

MAC Style Black Collection (Launch Sept. 24, 2009)

Hi Beauties!

I hope many of you are as excited as I am about the new MAC Style Black Collection which is set to Launch in the U.S. on September 24th.

I was able to get a sneak peak at the collection today at my MAC store and I have to admit I left really excited!

The Grease Paint Stick was to die for! It can be worn as an eyeliner, an eyeshadow base or alone for a smokey look. I layered 1 of the Mineralized eyeshadows on top of it and it was AMAZING!

I am also very excited about the infamous Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. Ever since this product was released years ago as limited edition it has received nothing less than Holy Grails! I will be getting mine for sure!

The nailpolishes were all great looking. I love the look of the black on really short manicured nails. CHIC!

The lipsticks in black are uber-chic! You really need to be confident with yourself to wear the black lips out. If you are a little more modest, the black lipsticks could be a great way for you to darken your other lipsticks by mixing with a brush. The Mattene lipstick in the wine color made my heart skip a beat. Simply Gorgeous!

This collection is very edgy and it is well worth a look.

MAC Colour Craft Collection Haulin'!

Hi Beauties,

If you are tuned in to my twitter, you'll know that I went over to MAC today to check out the MAC Colour Craft Collection.

As usual, I'd like to share with you what I picked up and my initial thoughts.
Sunny By Nature MSF
By far the prettiest and most wearable of the bunch. They are all fabulous but I know that the few MSF's I own sit inside my vanity desperately waiting to get used. Unfortunately, MAC has a habit of going overboard on the shimmer.
*****"Dearest MAC, We the makeup-addicts also have day (office) jobs, and we, really don't look good under office lighting with those gold cheeks! The MSF's are too shimmery".*****

Anyway, it is a beautiful bronzey color with a few veins in light pink. This one is fantastic for contouring, bronzing or even allover the face for a warmer skin tone. This color may be too light for darker WOC but the "Warm Blend"* 3-color MSF will probably work perfectly. *disclaimer: it has gold shimmer. Read above.*

Style Demon Mineralize Blush
Deep cinnamon-rose with gold shimmer. When I got home I compared it on my Brunette MSF and they are quite similar. I may have to exchange this one. :-(

Nice Mix Up Lipglass (marbled)
Gorgeous orangey-bronze color. The consistency is quite sticky but the color payoff is way better than the Tri-color Lipglasses from the Sugarsweet Collection. Overall a nice addition but not a must have.

Miss Marble Lipglass (marbled)
This is soft muted pink color. I have an abnormal obsession with pink lipglosses/lipsticks/blushes, whatever, that I felt I needed this one. But if you are 'normal' and you have other pinks this is not a must have.

Trimming Talk Lipstick (Frost)
GORGEOUS! WOW! I love this color. The frost part is barely noticeable but the pink is to die for! You do need to add 2+ coats to hide the pigmentation from your own lips but once you do, it's amazing. I am wearing it as I type this and I don't want to take it off. LOL

MAC 131 Brush
I haven't tried this brush yet but I can see myself using it for liquid foundation, powder blushes, cream blushes, MSFs and highlight. It really is too expensive as are most MAC brushes, but I just see so many possibilities with this one.

Happy Shopping!

XOXO,
Awilda
